Rogers Community Impact.

Outside of our day-to-day business, at Rogers Insurance we proudly serve the community through a variety of charitable events.

Rogers Run for L’Arche

Since 2011, Rogers Insurance has worked with the hardworking staff and volunteers at L’Arche Calgary and Economical Insurance to put on a fantastic running event that raises money and awareness for programs supporting people with developmental disabilities. We’ve raised hundreds of thousands of dollars, with the run getting bigger and better every year!

Our Impact

L’Arche Calgary provides homes and communities for its 32 core members with disabilities.

Rogers has been one of the title sponsors since the event’s inception, which includes a children’s carnival and three races: half marathon, 8 km and 1km fun run. A popular early run-season event each March, it enjoys the support of over 200 Volunteers, 750 participants, and numerous friends and family members. Rogers Race Day Volunteers are eligible for a half paid flex day.

The Sinclair was Alberta‛s only insurance industry fundraising event of its kind. The tournament was named in recognition of retired Guardian Insurance Senior Vice President, Jim Sinclair, who made significant contributions to the insurance industry across Canada during his distinguished 40 year career.

Making a difference

Rogers became involved in the support, planning, and event day execution in 2006.

To date, this event has raised over $900,000, and its current beneficiaries include: WICC Alberta, Bow Valley College Insurance Program – Scholarship Fund, Memory Plus (Alberta Health Services) and the Alberta Alzheimer’s Society (Dementia Care).

The Canadian Legacy Project – Rogers Charity of Choice 2019-2021

Every three years, Rogers Insurance employees are presented with several charitable organizations and then vote on who they want to support for a three-year period. After 13 presentations from organizations sponsored by our employees here at the Calgary Head Office, The Canadian Legacy Project was chosen for our next 3-year commitment.

Supporting Our Veterans

The Canadian Legacy Project was created because many of our Canadian Veterans are living in poverty and do not have the basic necessities in food, clothing and shelter. The Project is designed to support veterans and develop programs and events to help improve their everyday lives. The Calgary Veteran’s Food Bank is the only one in Canada – monthly support includes a food and toiletries drive, employee charitable donations matched by Rogers Insurance Ltd., volunteering and innovative fundraising events.

Other Key Programs include: Field of Crosses, Forces@WORK, Vet Fit and Education.
