2015 Run for L’Arche

The first Run for L’Arche was held in 2011. The inspiration came from a group trip made by Rogers Insurance and L’Arche Calgary runners to the Marathon Medoc in France in 2010.

At that time, L’Arche Calgary was the Rogers Insurance Charity of Choice and the group was running the marathon in France to raise money for the community.

Since 2011, the Run for L’Arche has raised over $150,000 for L’Arche Calgary’s homes and programs for adults with developmental disabilities. Every year, the event hosts 500 participants in the Half Marathon, 5 Mile and 1K Fun Run Walk events. Our enthusiastic volunteers and pancake breakfast are a big hit every year and our Official Race Starters have included Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi and W. Brett Wilson.

The 5th anniversary edition of the Rogers Insurance Run for L’Arche will be held on Saturday, March 21st, 2015 at Eau Claire Market and we are planning for this year’s event to be the biggest and best to date.

The run is now one of the most popular events on the Calgary race calendar thanks to our enthusiastic volunteers, pancake breakfast and a race that truly welcomes all levels of participants. Since 2011 and has raised over $150,000 for L’Arche Calgary’s homes and programs for adults with developmental disabilities.

The insurance industry has supported the Run for L’Arche since the beginning and Economical Insurance has been the presenting sponsor since 2011. To promote the race within our industry, awards are given out annually to insurance participants. These awards include fastest broker, fastest underwriter and more.
