Rogers Kananaskis Christmas Party Details 2021

Our annual Rogers Kananaskis Christmas Party is back! We are hard at work preparing for this event and we hope you’ll join us for a memorable weekend.

Please read all the important information below to assist you in making your attendance decision.

We take the health and the safety of our staff and their families very seriously. We ask that all attending be fully vaccinated (having received both vaccines at least two weeks prior to the party) to help us keep everyone safe. Children under the age of 12 who are not vaccinated are allowed to attend the 2021 Kananaskis Christmas Party.

*Please note: We are optimistic that the 2021 Rogers Kananaskis Christmas Party can go ahead as planned, however we will now be requiring proof of vaccine (as per new restrictions), so please be prepared for that. The event may be subject to further changes based on any current COVID-19 restrictions or regulations. We will do our best to communicate these to all staff in a timely manner.

Those attending the 2021 Kananaskis Christmas Party must be:

  • A permanent employee in good standing, working a minimum of 25 hours per week; or,
  • A 2020 Rogers Rockstar.

Please note: Those that fit the eligibility requirements above, but are on a leave of absence, are still invited.

If you have questions about the eligibility requirements, please reach out to HR at [email protected]

Employees that work remotely are still invited, however, they are responsible for their own costs associated with transportation to the party (i.e., those that work for Rogers Calgary, but work out of Vancouver, etc.).

Friday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. through to Sunday, Nov. 28 at 11 a.m.

Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge (1 Centennial Drive, Kananaskis Village, Alberta, T0L 2H0).

You may bring your spouse, significant other, or even a friend. Management pays for one room for you and one guest. You are responsible to pay for any additional guests (see below). Please note that if you are inviting a former employee as your guest to the Christmas Party, this person may only be your spouse.

Management pays for two nights of accommodation in one room for you and one guest, as well as the Saturday night banquet.

Please note: If you are a no-show, you will be charged full price for the dinner and accommodations for you and your guest.

Any other expenses (e.g., Friday night dinner, Saturday breakfast and lunch, Sunday breakfast, spa treatments, etc.) are the responsibility of the employee. Employees are also responsible for:

  • If there are more than two adults (age 18 or over) staying in your room, it will be your responsibility to pay the additional rate of $25 per night per adult for a maximum of four adults per room. There will be no charge for children up to and including the age of 18 years who share with their parents.
  • All incidentals such as phone charges or room service are the responsibility of the employee.
  • Underground and valet parking fees are the responsibility of the employee (see list of fees below).
  • Babysitting charges are the responsibility of the employee (see note below).
  • Pet charges are the responsibility of the employee (see note below).
  • Employees that work remotely are responsible for their own costs associated with transportation to the party (i.e., those that work for Rogers Calgary, but work out of Vancouver, etc.).

For pre and post event stay, the hotel will be happy to extend a special rate for a period of two days prior and two days after the Christmas party (subject to availability). Please indicate any plans to extend your booking when you register. Additional nights will be at your expense.

We assign the initial rooms as per the block of rooms requested and approved by Rogers Insurance. After the rooming list has been submitted in October, you are free to contact the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge to request an upgrade. The upgrade cost will be at your expense and noted on your bill upon check-out. Any upgrade is subject to availability.

Two luxury coaches will be available for anyone who does not wish to drive to Kananaskis. The first bus will depart Friday, Nov. 26, stopping at the Rogers McLean Shaw office, followed by the Sylvan office and then the Red Deer office. The second bus will pick up Rogers Fort McMurray, CCV and Megson Fitzpatrick employees from the Calgary airport, and will finally pick up the Rogers Calgary staff from the Calgary Rogers Insurance office. The departure times for the luxury coaches will be announced at a later date.

Heated underground parking is available at a rate of $25 per day. Valet parking is also available at a rate of $30 per vehicle per day plus 5% GST. Outdoor parking is available with purchase of a Kananaskis Conservation Pass. There are a few plug-ins up for grabs in the outdoor lot (bring your own extension cord).

Please note: A Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required for all outdoor parking. Click here to learn more.

You are invited to join your colleagues in the Explorer Room in the main lodge from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Minors will be allowed to attend, but they always must be supervised by someone over the age of 18. Minors must leave the hospitality suite by 11 p.m. The Pomeroy will supply a coloured wristband that minors must wear for identification purposes when they go to the bar for pop and juice.

Dinner is not included on Friday night, however, there are some fantastic choices at the hotel that you and your guest may choose to dine at.

The Pomeroy Housekeeping Department must have 30 days prior notice if you require babysitting services, and the cost is the responsibility of the employee. Specific information is required and forms must be completed by the child’s parent (to be distributed to you upon request). Please note that on any given weekend, a limited number of staff are available for babysitting, therefore, their babysitters are not guaranteed.

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. The babysitting request form will be made available soon.

You are allowed to bring your pet(s). However, you must bring your own kennel. The cost is as follows:

  • $40 per room per stay regardless of pet size; maximum of two pets per room.
  • An extra donation of $50 to the SPCA is optional. You will be asked for your decision at check-in.

If you are planning to bring your pet, we need to be notified immediately during registration so that a pet-friendly room can be booked for you.
